how are cannabis
edibles made?

It used to be that edibles were a “you get what you get” experience. But, just like any other cannabis product, we now can get specific with cannabinoids and percentages when it comes to producing edibles. As we know, different cultivars have different effects. This means we can apply this to edibles too; incorporating different cultivars in edibles changes the experience.

Harvested as-is, cannabis is non-psychoactive due to high quantities of THCA. In order to turn THCA into good ‘ole THC, the cannabis flower needs to be baked in a low-temperature, oven-like environment. This converts the THCA without destroying the THC molecules. Because of this, we can keep the cannabis potent for the next steps in production.

After the THCa has been converted into THC, the cannabinoids need to be transferred into edible-friendly ingredients. This is where butter or oil come into play. In order to be incorporated into food, THC needs fat molecules to bind with. The decarboxylated cannabis is simmered in the oil of choice on a low temperature to transfer the THC into the oil, then it is strained and ready to go.

Time to get cooking. Baked goods, gummies, and chocolates all typically use cannabis oil in their recipes (though some use distillate instead). The cannabis oil is incorporated in the recipe and kept below a certain temperature to keep the cannabinoids intact. After making the edibles, they are lab tested, packaged, and prepared for sale.

edibles faq

This depends on your preferences! If you’re a chocolate person, we have chocolate edibles. If you don’t care for super-sweet products, we have options for that, too. Browse our products to find your favorite!

Edibles can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours to take effect depending on the edibles, your setting, and your body. Because of this, it’s important to take it slow with edibles, even if you think you can’t feel it yet. Better safe than sorry!

After you take them, edibles can last up to 12 hours and you may feel residual effects for up to 24 hours. Edibles enter your system differently than inhalables like flower or concentrate, and they tend to linger for longer.

Many edibles are made dairy free, gluten free, and vegan! We aim for all of our products to be inclusive, so we carry a variety of edible types for different needs. All edibles will come with their ingredients and allergen information listed as well.
